Sciatica Relief in San Antonio, TX

Sciatica isn’t a back problem.
It’s a nerve problem.

Most chiropractors treat sciatica like back pain — and that’s why most people don’t get lasting relief. We address the actual nerve compression with on-site imaging, gentle adjustments, and non-surgical decompression. No twisting. No injections. No surgery.

Who We Help

Three stages of sciatica. The same root cause.

Sciatica rarely starts severe. It builds — from an occasional zing down the leg to something that limits your day, to something that takes over your life. We treat it at every stage, but the earlier we see you, the easier the fix.

Mild Flare-ups
Occasional, comes and goes.
A zing down the leg after sitting too long. Numbness in the foot first thing in the morning. The early signal that the nerve is irritated — and the easiest stage to correct before it progresses.
Recurring
It’s back. Again.
Symptoms that fade for a few weeks then return, often worse than before. You’ve probably tried stretching, ice, anti-inflammatories, maybe a chiropractor or two. The pattern means the underlying compression hasn’t been addressed.
Debilitating
It’s running your life.
You can’t sit through dinner. Sleep is broken. You’ve been told surgery is the next step. Many of our patients walked in at this stage — and walked out without needing the operation.

Why Choose Us

The compression is real. So is the path back.

Sciatica isn’t the pain in your leg. It’s a nerve being compressed somewhere in your lower back — usually by a bulging disc, a herniation, or years of mechanical stress that’s narrowed the space the nerve needs. Most chiropractors miss that. They adjust the back, you feel slightly better for a day, then the nerve compression returns and so does the pain.

We work differently. After digital X-rays and a full nervous system scan, we use Torque Release Technique to make precise, instrument-based adjustments to the lumbar spine — gentle, no twisting, no force. For most sciatica cases, we add Back On Trac decompression: an FDA-cleared, hands-free therapy that gently opens up the disc space and gives the nerve room to recover. Combined, they’re a real path back — one that’s helped patients avoid surgery, injections, and long-term medication.

Sciatica FAQs

Common questions about sciatica.

Sciatica is pain caused by compression or irritation of the sciatic nerve, the largest nerve in the body. The hallmark is pain that radiates — from the lower back, through the buttock, down the back of the leg, sometimes all the way to the foot. It’s often paired with numbness, tingling, or weakness on one side. If your pain stays purely in the back without radiating, it’s probably back pain, not sciatica. Either way, our evaluation tells you straight what’s actually happening.
For most sciatica cases, yes. Surgery is usually recommended when imaging shows nerve compression, and the goal of decompression is the same as the goal of surgery — relieve pressure on the nerve so it can heal — just achieved without operating. Combined with TRT adjustments, it’s a non-surgical path that’s helped a lot of our patients avoid the operating room. We can’t promise that for every case, but if there’s a non-surgical option, your scans will tell us. And we’ll tell you straight whether we’re it.
It depends on the severity and how long the nerve has been compressed. Mild cases sometimes respond within the first few visits. More severe cases — especially those involving disc herniation or chronic compression — usually take several weeks of consistent care, including decompression sessions, before things shift meaningfully. Your scans tell us what’s realistic, and we’ll give you a real timeline at your first visit.
Medications mask the pain. Injections can reduce inflammation temporarily. PT can strengthen the supporting muscles. None of those address the actual physical compression on the nerve — which is what decompression therapy was specifically built to do. A lot of our patients come to us after exhausting those options. The reason it works when other things didn’t is that we’re treating the mechanical cause, not the symptom.
Yes — and pregnancy sciatica is one of the most common and most under-treated cases we see. Shifting weight, hormonal changes, and the growing uterus all combine to put pressure on the sciatic nerve in the second and third trimesters. TRT is one of the gentlest techniques in chiropractic, with no twisting or pressure on the abdomen. Decompression usually isn’t used during pregnancy, but TRT alone often resolves it.
